Sure, as a mom I try to feed my kids well, but I could do better for myself. In between farm work, laundry, fixing meals and walking on legos, there is room for improvement! Where to start.
First, I decided to find good resources. Finding resources that we can trust is always important. My go to is beefitswhatsfordinner.com, but I've also started listening to more fitness podcasts and reading blogs. Here are a few I've dipped my toes into and I enjoy the information so far... https://sustainabledish.com/, https://drhyman.com/, https://cookingwiththecowboy.com/, http://brookeappetit.com/. This link takes you right to a simple explanation of the common diet trends today https://www.beefitswhatsfordinner.com/nutrition/diet-trends.
So where to go from here? I can't speak for others, but here is my plan.
1. Get up and MOVE! Sure I am busy on the farm, but I can do better.
2. Less processed food. That means sourcing more local ingredients, we have proteins covered, but I'm working on doing better. (And time to expand the garden come Spring!)
3. Meal plan! If I plan meals, I shop for what we need, I save money I can make the time to cook more meals and less picking up dinner on the way home.
So I have a plan. Do you?
I would love to hear from you, what has helped you in your "get healthy" journey?
